    In order to reward the sustainable investment of all the cardinals of the Holy Roman Church having contributed significantly on building our Holy Mother Church, and as they are Roman or national, we, Cardinals gathered in the Sacred College, were ordained and enacted, and by this our perpetual edict and final rule based and order the adoption of amendments relating to Book 5 of the Canon Law of the Holy Roman Church and Aristotelian bearing the title of De Sanctae Sedis summo administratione , defined and listed below. The amended articles take precedence over the articles of Canon Law prior to this edict.



    Part II: Charges and statutes of the Higher Institutions of the Church

    Article 9 : The Cardinal Emeritus has only the rights to another possible charge but retains an advisory seat in the Curia and can celebrate all the sacraments of the Aristotelian Church.

    - Article 9.1 : The Cardinal Emeritus takes precedence in an election to fill a vacant seat in the Curia.

    - Article 9.2 : The causal quadriptych:
    The material cause = He must have been a Cardinal Elector of correct and regular manner over 6 months.
    The efficient cause = He is confirmed by the Curia for a period of 6 months.
    The formal cause = He is confirmed emeritus by the College of Cardinals.
    The final cause = He is a consultant member of the Curia.

      is revised as follows :

    Article 9 : The Cardinal Emeritus owns only the rights to another possible charge but retains an advisory seat in the Curia and can celebrate all the sacraments of the Aristotelian Church.

    Article 9.1 : The Cardinal can be distinguished Roman or national by status (Roman or national) that they had during the course of their duties.

    - Article 9.2 :The Roman Cardinal Emeritus takes precedence in an election to fill any vacant curial seat. The National Cardinal Emeritus takes precedence at elections to fill a vacant national curial seat.

    - Article 9.3 : Le quadriptyque causal :
    The material cause = The Roman Cardinal emeritus must have been correctly and regularly a Cardinal elector for over 12 months. The National Cardinal must have been correctly and regularly a Cardinal suffragan for over 24 months.
    The efficient cause = He is confirmed by the Curia for a period of 6 months.
    The formal cause = He is confirmed emeritus by the College of Cardinals.
    The final cause = He is a consultant member of the Curia.





    Amendment of the canonical text « The supreme government of the Holy See »,
    Given and endorsed in Rome by the Sacred College during the pontificate of The Holy Father Innocentivs Octavvs on VIII of May, on Tuesday, of the year of our Lord MCDLX.

    Amendments were drafted and published by His Eminence Cyril Kad d'Azayes, Roman cardinal, in eight day of August, on Tuesday, of the year of our Lord MCDLX.
