The walls were tinged with a soft indigo and embellished with disparate works of art. There were two outstanding elements: a magnificent porcelain fireplace and, in the centre, the "Corsini throne", a marble throne decorated with plant motifs, hunting scenes, scenes of struggle, and sacrificial rites dating back to the second century BC.

Alma lo seguì e fu introdotta in un'ampia sala dove c'era un camino in porcellana davvero prezioso e di mirabile fattura che invitava a sedersi lì accanto e godere del calore delle fiamme che da esso si sprigionavano.
Anche se non era ancora arrivato l'inverno, l'autunno iniziava a farsi sentire con i primi freddi.
Le pareti erano finemente decorate con tinte pastello molto delicate sulle quali spiccavano preziosi arazzi e dipinti impreziositi da cornici color porpora, finemente cesellate.
Dall'insieme dell'ambiente era palpabile il buon gusto posseduto dal Cardinale Arduino Della Scala.
