Le cardinal aveugle s'apprêtait à célébrer son premier consistoire ordinaire public en tant que camerlingue. Il s'agirait de consacrer non pas un mais quatre cardinaux qu'il avait créé le matin même afin d'administrer deux consistoires pontificaux très difficiles. Ces évêques venus de terres lointaines et froides avaient beaucoup de travail devant eux et le camerlingue plaçait de grands espoirs en eux.

Sur un ordre de l'Azayes, les cloches sonnèrent et les portes furent ouvertes. On fit revêtir à l'aveugle ses habits d'officiant, et on prépara les encensoirs.

The blind cardinal got ready to celebrate his first public ordinary consistory as camerlingo. It would be a question of dedicating not one but four cardinals that he had created that morning. They were going to administer two very difficult pontifical consistories. These bishops coming from distant and cold lands had a lot of work in front of them and the camerlingo had high expectations of them.

On an order from the Azayes, the bells rang and the doors were opened. The blind was helped to wear his officiant clothes, and censers were prepared.

Kiscsillag was moved by the honor. After she read the letter in which they told her about the nomination, she was speechless for minutes. An now she is here, slowly walking to the Basilica. The responsibility made her a little bit nervous, but after several minutes, she calmed herself. It will be OK, she will do her best. And she has great friends, supporters, brothers and sisters who were always be there to help or just give an advice if it was needed. She hopes one day she will be able to give those support back.

Kiscsillag greets everyone with a kind smile and humbly waits for the ceremony to be started.

Renegade has arrived at The Eternal City a week ago. Already at his first visiting he was impressed by the monumentalism of this city and this feeling is still alive. Churches, squares, fountains, ancient ruins... it can't be written by human words, you must be, live there.

Renegade has spent his time with fast and prayer on the day before the ceremony of dedicating. He has prepared his soul to the event.
Today he steps forward... more work, more responsibility. He has got answer to his prayer and now he is ready for the challenge.

The prospective Elector Cardinal enters the Basilica, walks forward and greets the attendees then takes his seat.

Yeees, Italy and Rome were not as cold as Poland, so It was warm, happy day. Bartosz went to the Basilica, knelt, prayed and ... sighed with relief.

New Cardinals for the Eastern countries and the promotion of one of the existing high prelates to the charge of Elector into the Roman College... That was a great time, thought His Eminence Edoardo Borromeo Galli, who fought day by day as the Plenipotentiary Prelate to help the furthest country on building a strong and proficient presence of the Church.
So he was ready into the Basilica, waiting for the start of the ceremony, and he greeted His Brothers and Sisters who were there to be appointed.

The ceremony she(it) would be touching? a Hallmark moment? It was often case, especially when Rome had a new child.

Encadré d'une foule de bedeaux et d'enfants de chœur, enveloppé dans un nuage d'encens, l'aveugle fit son entrée, flanqué d'un bedeau-guide. Prudemment, il gravit les marches menant au chœur et s'avança vers le maître-autel. Les cloches se turent et l'aveugle prit alors la parole :

Surrounded by a crowd of beadles and choirboys, wrapped in a cloud of incense, the blind man entered the basilica, flanked by a beadle-guide. Carefully, he climbed the steps to the choir and advanced towards the altar. The bells were silent and blind spoke:

Guy had arrived in Rome several days ago and was studying in the library. He had read the announcement of the nomination of four new Cardinals and wanted to see the ceremony for the first time. He walked from the library to the basilica when the bells started to ring. He went inside overwhelmed once again by the beauty and grandeur of this place. He searched a place to sit.

The new camerlingo started the ceremony with the Credo and the bishop of Utrecht sang along.
