But this day, they would visit his portuguese brothers...Portugal was a kingdom with ancient bonds to the other ibeian Kingdoms, and the Borgia had very close friends in Portugal.

He remembered Ana Caterina, and smiled...anyway, he entered the room, and said:

O Cardeal Borgia apareceu na sala. O cardeal ficou feliz por ouvir diferentes línguas entre os corredores romanos: Roma, como uma cidade cosmopolita, sempre surpreendeu-lhe. Mas neste dia, eles iriam visitar os seus irmãos portugueses... Portugal era um reino com vínculos antigos para os outros reinos ibéricos, e o Borgia tinha vários amigos chegados em Portugal.

Ele lembrou-se de Ana Catarina, e sorriu ... de qualquer maneira, ele entrou na sala e disse:

-É um prazer estar em sua presença...

Adentrou na sala em silêncio, fez uma breve vênia àqueles que estavam no local e caminhou até um assento disponível, tentando ser o mais discreta possível.

Yochanan soube da reunião durante sua estada no seminário menor, e decidiu fazer a viagem para participar da mesma já que tal reunião poderia decidir o futuro da Igreja em Portugal.

Quando ele chegou, a reunião já havia começado, então em silêncio e de cabeça baixa ele entrou na sala e se sentou no primeiro assento livre que encontrou próximo à porta.

Yochanan came to know about the meeting during his time at the seminary, and he decided to make the trip to Rome to participate, he believed that such a meeting could decide the future of the Church in Portugal.

Chegando-se à frente, NReis explica ao Camerlengo e a todos os presentes:

- Pelo que vejo, o principal problema da Igreja Portuguesa é um: Falta de membros activos nos altos postos (Cardeal e Bispos). Sem Cardeais e Bispos activos, os fiéis e os padres não sabem a quem recorrer, e ficam desinteressados. Neste ponto, posso falar sobre Sylarnash e Monsterguid. Eles foram/são excelentes teólogos mas não eram carismáticos! Não eram próximos das pessoas!
Em qualquer Igreja é vital sentirmos apoio!

Sem um grupo de um Cardeal e dois ou três Bispos activos, a nossa Igreja ficará sempre enterrada na areia. Necessitamos de uma nova Igreja, próxima dos fiéis! Um grupo capaz de reunir todos os fiéis!

- From what I see, the main problem of the Portuguese Church is one: Lack of active members in the high ranks (Cardinal and Bishops). Without active Cardinals and Bishops, the faithful and the priests don't know whom to appeal, and become disinterested. In this point, I can talk about Sylarnash and Monsterguid. They are/were excellent theologians but they weren't charismatic! They weren't close to people!
In any Church it's vital to feel support!

Without a group of an active Cardinal and two or three active Bishops, our Church will be always buried in the sand. We need a new Church, closer to the faithful. A group able to reunite all the faithful!

The Camerlengo was happy to hear a voice answering him.

The problem of low population is global. In France, Italy, England and Empire the cities lose inhabitants and the inhabitants are always more inactive. We can't do nothing to solve this problem. So it is "normal" if you have difficulties to find bishops, so do we elsewhere.

About the choice of the cardinals: we don't chose especially good theologians. We chose people able to do some work. So it includes presence, past work and personal qualities. Theological qualities are not that important in the case of national cardinals. Maybe we made a bad choice - only God knows - but we thought doing the good ones… What du you suggest for the future? Don't forget we have to chose between the bishops, and they are so few bishops in Portugal…

O Camerlengo ficou feliz ao ouvir uma voz lhe responder.

O problema da baixa população é global. Na França, Itália, Inglaterra e Empire as cidades perdem habitantes e os habitantes são sempre mais inativo. Nós não podemos fazer nada para resolver este problema. Por isso, é "normal" se você tem dificuldades para encontrar bispos, assim como nós em outros lugares.

Sobre a escolha dos cardeais: nós não escolhemos especialmente bons teólogos. Nós escolhemos pessoas capazes de fazer algum trabalho. Por isso, inclui presença, o trabalho passado e qualidades pessoais. Qualidades teológicas não são tão importantes no caso dos cardeais nacionais. Talvez a gente fez uma escolha ruim - só Deus sabe - mas nós pensamos fazer os bons ... O que você sugere du para o futuro? Não se esqueça que temos de escolher entre os bispos, e eles são tão poucos bispos em Portugal ...
