The blind cardinal got ready to celebrate his eleventh public ordinary consistory as chamberlain. The fall was already well present in the eternal city where Arnault got ready to consecrate a German-speaking bishop that he never met, but whose name was often mentioned in good way at the curia romana.

On an order from the Azayes, the bells rang and the doors were opened. The blind was helped to wear his officiant clothes, and censers were prepared. The ceremony was going to be exceptional.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Early this morning, he made his way set t to be on that day with his best friend and great cousin . What a great joy it would be in Nymhenburg monastery on this day . Nymphenburg, where Wilbalt and Elijas once met and formed by the monks .How different their ways went.
The bells of the basilica invited to the Cardinal consecration .
Slowly, he entered St. Titus , took a place in the rear pews and once again he thanked the Lord for the prevailing ceasefire in the Empire .
Der Einladung ihres Sohnes war auch Aliyah gefolgt. Immerhin war ein großer Tag für Wilbalt heute und da wollte sie natürlich nicht fehlen. Nachdem sie die St. Titus betreten hatte, erwies sie Gott die nötige Referenz und gesellte sich dann leise zu Elijas der auch hier war.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

She followed the invitation of her Son on this day. It would be a great day for him and she wont miss it. After she enterd St. Titus, she proved God the necessary reference and went to Elijas, which was also here.

No, the appointment didn't surprised him but it was not self-evident.
The letter from Rome had initially paralyzed him and then it seemed to him that God watched his youth and smiled.

When he entered St Titus , he saw his family and a smile appeared on his lips . They received his invitation for today and spend the day with him .
This pleased him very briefly and he took the time to embrace the mother and the cousin and give thanks for their presence .

Then he went into the front rows opposed to his consecration to go .
---------

The prelate knew it was a great day for Wilbalt, one of his bishops, and there was no way he would miss the ceremony of his cardinal's creation. He was a very devoted bishop, appreciated among all his peers, and the Borgia knew it was a very wise decision to have him appointed as new cardinal. As Primate of the SRING, he was even more happy about this creation, as the Church in germany is something very important to him. Smiling, he entered in the Basilica, greeting Wilbalt with a hand sign as he was taking place, waiting for the ceremony to start.

Surrounded by a crowd of beadles and choirboys, wrapped in a cloud of incense, the blind man entered the basilica, flanked by a beadle-guide. Carefully, he climbed the steps to the choir and advanced towards the altar. The bells were silent and blind spoke:

Prions ensemble.

Welcome to this twelfth public concistory, where today we give the dignity of cardinal to the new eminence Wilbalt. Let us thank God for giving us such a great day for the Church and for our brother. Let us pray together.

Preghiamo insieme. »

As the blind camerlengo welcomed them all, Wilbalt was listing to his Eminence words and yes he was right. It was a great day for him and he was thankful to god as he felt grateful and fortunated in his life. A family behind him, brothers and sisters in faith beside. What more can you ask for.

He closed his eyes:

Credo in Deum,
Altissimum Omnipotentem,
Creatorem caeli et terrae,
Inferos et paradisi,
Ultima hora animae judicem nostrae

Et in Aristotelem, prophetam,
Nicomaqui Phaetique filium,
Missum ut sapientiam et universi
Divas leges errantibus hominibus erudiret

Credo etiam in Christum,
Natum ex Maria et Ioseph,
Vitam dedit ut nobis paradisi viam monstraret
Sic, postquam sub Pontio passus est
Propter salutem
Nostram martyr perivit
Consecutus est Solem
Ubi Aristoteles ad Altissimi dexteram eum expectabat

Credo in Divinam Actionem,
Sanctam Ecclesiam aristotelicianam, romanam, unam et indivisibilem
Sanctorum communionem,
Peccatorum remissionem,
Carnis resurrectionem
Vitam aeternam.

AMEN

[color=green]Credo in Deum,
Altissimum Omnipotentem,
Creatorem caeli et terrae,
Inferos et paradisi,
Ultima hora animae judicem nostrae

Et in Aristotelem, prophetam,

No question! Of course I would join the ceremony of my german colleague Wilbalt to become Cardinal. He has my full support, as well as from from all german bishop colleagues. And Cardinals, of course! So I sit among the participants and enjoy the ceremony. My clothes show that I am particapting as Vice-Primas of the German speaking provinces. Away from that, today I am happy to meet Primas and Cardinal Yut again and sit down next to him, as I am allowed to do so for I am no Cardinal. Otherwise I take any place allowed. In addition, I am curious how Arnault, our common Camerlengo would be. We only wrote each other so far. Indeed I feel impressed by his appearance and I follow his ceremony then. I am imposed by the cathedral and his beauty as well and join silently the common prayer.

Credo in Deum,
Altissimum Omnipotentem,
Creatorem caeli et terrae,
Inferos et paradisi,
Ultima hora animae judicem nostrae

Et in Aristotelem, prophetam,
Nicomaqui Phaetique filium,

I am confident and optimistic, Wilbalts activity will give a positive push to the German consistory. So a good day for Rome and the German part of the holy church I really do believe.

Elijas greet the cousin back as she took the seat next to him.

How much faith must live in you that you can be blind and do this ceremony, he thought when the Camerlengo started with the consistory.

Latin the language he was trained in for many years.

So easily he followed the prayers with the others:

Credo in Deum,
Altissimum Omnipotentem,
Creatorem caeli et terrae,
Inferos et paradisi,
Ultima hora animae judicem nostrae

Nicomaqui Phaetique filium,

Of course Kathleen went to St. Titus. Wilbalt was not only her predecessor but also a good friend and a pious cleric whom she looked up to. His elevation to Cardinal was something she wouldn't want to miss. So she seated herself close to Rodrigo and watched the ceremony.

Setting her eyes on the camerlengo for the first time she thought: 'Oh he's actually blind. I thought, it was just a figure of speech' Kathleen wondered if this changed anything about her opinion of the Cardinal but found that it didn't actually matter.

When His Eminence called for the credo, Kathleen chimed in with a soft voice but still well audible thanks to the truly amazing acoustics in St. Tito:

---

"Credo in Deum,
Altissimum Omnipotentem,
Creatorem caeli et terrae,
Inferos et paradisi,
Ultima hora animae judicem nostrae

Et in Aristotelem, prophetam,
Nicomaqui Phaetique filium,

The voices of dignitaries and faithful present rose to unite, singing the glory and the love of God. Then the silence came back. The camerlengo said:

« - Dear brothers, dear sisters, I wanted to briefly remind you the role that after this day you will need to take:

The Cardinals act as college and must validate, even 'a posteriori', their decisions by the College of Cardinals.
The Cardinals can celebrate all the sacraments of the Aristotelian Church.
The Cardinals only, are entitled to pronounce an excommunication.
The Cardinals alone, are able to validate a separation or an annulment of marriage.
The Cardinals, alone are with being able to validate defrocking of a Priest or Monk, volunteer or not.
The Cardinals have the right of veto on any decision taken by a member of the Clergy, save the Pope.

The title of Cardinal does not prohibit any office plurality with another duty in the Secular or Regular Clergy. »

Il se tut puis reprit. He paused and went on:

Brother, now I call for the delivery of the cap and the cardinal's ring. »

Un bedeau appela. A beadle called:

« - Que s'avance Wilbalt di Loredan.
Come forward Wilbalt di Loredan. »

Wilbalt was listening to the camerlengo words.

As he called him to come Forward he did so.

In front of the blind Camerlengo he made himself noticeable:

"Here I'am Eminence"

_____

The beadle guided the blind cardinal to the future cardinal who was kneeling.

We, Arnault of Azayes, camerlengo of the Holy Church, under the powers conferred by His Holiness Innocent VIII, at the request of the cardinals gathered in the Sacred College, create His Eminence Wilbalt di Loredan national suffragan cardinal in the German-speaking pontifical consistory. »

His hands helped by his faithful assistant, Arnault placed the bar on the priest's inclined head.
