Squire appointment - Equestrian Order of Pontifical Nobility

15 August 1464

In the Basilica, silent for a long time, many people were busy polishing candlesticks, dusting benches and votive chapels.
Several stewards were decorating the Basilica to the nines, as in three days it would have been an important ceremony.

~. 15. August 1464 .~

Laella entered the basilica. As Herold it was her honor and a duty to attend at the ceremony. She entered slowly and was amazed at the sight of the premises, offered her. She went to the altar and knelt down to pray. She stood up slowly and looked around further. They would wait for the Cardinal to offer their help, if he so wished.

Sorrise.

---

The Cardinal was pouring, with a golden pitcher, holy water in a font of a side chapel, when he recognized the Herald that he had noticed in San Benedetto palace.
He walked over and greeted her: Good evening, you are a little in advance, of three days for be exact. He smiled

----

She saw the Cardinal and knelt before him and kissed his ring, then she stood up spoke in calm tone:

Good evening, Eminence. Yes I know I'm a little early. But I was here in Rome, and had nothing to do. Therefore, I thought that now I'm coming over and question, if I could be a little assist. I have cared for ages no more municipality and also prepare any measure, so I had perhaps hoped to make me here a little useful. I know I should be humble, but I have the request to make something. I need to feel, to be able to do something. I...

The priestess interrupted and bit his tongue and fell on her knees. More than two years ago that the German-language area would assign any municipality, so that they only worked and studied in the Abbey Heiligenbronn.

Forgive me, Your Eminence, it does not occur again. I should be patient. It shows me as a bad priestess that I have given such selfish thoughts from me. I will fast a week for my words that I have just said.

---

The Monsignor looked surprised: but you are the herald! Surely I do not put clean candlesticks!

and with a smile he added: is now pause for me, come ... I offer you a cup of tea.

He accompanied the herald in the guest room next to the sacristy.
Perpetual, knowing the habits of the Cardinal, had already put on the stove, in a teapot, boiling water bubbling.

On the low table, surrounded by three armchairs and a small sofa there were sweet sugar adn corn cookies.

Cardinal indicates the herald armchair and he sat down on one another.

18 Agosto 1464

                ___--- === 00 === --- ___

August 18, 1464

Cassorni had heard, of far, the I toll some bells that announced the put Saint.

She hastened to finish to dress up, wearing a simple clear grey suit, decorated as soon as of black hems, proper, in his sobriety, to testify, so much the imperial mourning, how much the spiritual character of the ceremony to which would be brought.

She still turned among the hands the invitation received by the Cardinal, that had her very stricken, both for how much unexpected was both for the title of Baroness with which he had called her.
She had not taken familiarity with his recent nomination yet and she was surprised to be suitable man, when still she had not even had the opportunity expose her weapons.

But she hoped that nobody made us case. She was not as Baroness there, but as simple devoted, and above all, for thankfulness to the one with which it shared the depth affection that tied both to her dearest friend M.Azzurra.

She dissuaded from her thoughts, to devote to weave a basket of flowers that would have brought with itself to depose it to decoration of the Church.

---
While the faithful and guests arrived in the church, a children's choir sang the opening song.

The Lord is my salvation
and with him I no longer fear
because in my heart the certainty:
salvation is here with me.

Make known to the people
all he has accomplished,
and remember forever,
always remember that his Name is great.
