Papa Innocenzo VIII

His Holiness Innocent VIII, born Giacomo Savelli, was elected Supreme Pontiff on 2 September 1459, at the end of the conclave held from 11 July to 20 August 1459.
Before the ascent to the papal throne he was a hermit monk who lived in poverty and has always shared all his possessions without ever asking anyone anything.
Many people also say that he has miraculous powers and that in the management of his diocese (the diocese of Ferrara) has always been a very lenient man, who did a lot to enrich each parish giving everything for them, avoiding to put all his hands in his hands riches of the diocese.

During his pontificate, His Holiness has often expressed himself on sensitive issues, always favoring diplomacy. In a letter to his ministers, dated 4 January 1461, the pontiff wanted to examine the situation of the Holy Church, in view of the new year. Currently the pontiff has convened an extraordinary synod to discuss the discovery of the seven wax tablets.

December 5, 1466 was declared by the Sacred College of Cardinals unable to continue his mission because of physical weaknesses, opening the vacant seat.

His Holiness Eugène V, who reigned from 1454 until 30 May 1459, the day of his death, the death was attributed to a long illness.
There is no certain information about this pontiff before his ascent to the papal throne. A bust of the Pope it was found by digging from Starkel to Saint Claude, in the Holy Roman Empire.
