Your Excellencies:
Does anyone have any clue as to when a replacement may be named for Caissadiplomat as the metropolitan Arch-Bishop of An Caiseal? There are several openings in the arch-diocese that cannot be filled until a new Arch-Bishop is named. _________________ Archbishop of Cashel

Actually, we decided that our Bishops could be best used in other spots. As Caissa taught us before leaving our world, the functions of the Archbishob office were restricted, and decentralized to smaller Bishop's offices.
Therefore, no replacements for the moment being. _________________ Bishop of Ferns

Then if I may ask, your Excellency, if there is no Arch-Bishop, who will fill the open Bishoprics around Cashel province? Corcaigh's bishop moved to Chu Connaight months ago. Inis has no priest *or* a bishop to appoint a priest. What are the poor souls of Ireland to do if there is no administration to even begin filling their spiritual needs?
There are seven diocese in Cashel province alone, each consisting of a single parish. Most other parts of the world have at least two, if not three or more parishes per diocese. The way Ireland is organized, we need as many bishops as we do priests. And due to the transient nature of the populace, that means bishops are just as likely to need to be replaced as priests. So why, then, is the Arch-Bishopric to remain unfilled while there are both diocesan and parish positions open?
Pluralism obviously is not a problem in Ireland. We have several clergymen (including the still-deceased Caissadiplomat) filling multiple positions within the episcopal hierarchy. In light of this, I (and the Irish faithful) do not understand why positions remain unfilled even as absentees and dead men occupy ecclesiastical offices.
These positions should either be filled, or the entire episcopal organization re-worked to address these problems. There is no reason why a nation the size of Ireland should have more dioceses than England while having less than a quarter the parishes. Having it organized this way only ensures that the people's spiritual needs will go unfilled, and that the Church's influence will continue to wane on Irish soil. _________________ Archbishop of Cashel

The game administrator is going to fullfill the Bishop positions when we find personnell for that. As far as I know, Father Al, the Archbishop have never had such power. _________________ Bishop of Ferns

An archbishop is not needed. One supposedly only needs to have 2 suffragan bishops. However the mechanics of this are not clear, and you would still need the pope to validate. Due to this, the pope is really the only materially vital person at this time.

Most in the church would agree. However that is not how it is now; nor does it appear that it will change despite many requests (ooc: to the admin) to change it.

According to official records, the recently elected bishop of Cook's residence is still Corcaigh.
We are just waiting for the pope to validate the election, and let him in his office. I am sure as the bishop-elect has access to his office, your concerns will be taken care.
By-the-way, a happy belated birthday to our bishop-elect of Cook. _________________ Former Bishop of Clifton

What is the procedure to go about getting a bishop confirmed and installed?
Munster is still littered with priestless parishes that cannot be filled for lack of bishops. I've been in contact with the mayor of Inis, who is qualified to be priest but has nobody to appoint her as such. _________________ Archbishop of Cashel

Well it looks like Invisible007 is our new Bishop for An Gort - congratulations! (I must admit I am extra proud because Invisible007 baptized me).
Just curious if a Priest will be installed in An Gort soon? We could use some of Jah's Good Word down here amidst all the hoopla regarding sealanes.
Here is the latest IG report from the An Gort Church, FYI:

Cardinal Invisible will probably appoint a priest within a few days. However you should consult with him as he may have to travel some distance so there may be a slight delay to the appointments. _________________ Former Bishop of Clifton
