Greetings all!

I'm currently in the process of gathering and collating the records in the Register of Baptisms. While I would encourage all to continue recording baptisms in the register, using your own style, I'd like to request that at the end of your announcement, you also write the information in the following format, for future ease of record gathering.

Thanks!

[IG NAME of the baptized] (eventual name RP), by [IG NAME of the officiant], [DATE] in [LOCATION]

For example:

Blue_moon21 (Blue Hendly) , by Sammy, 20 June 1460 in London, England.

Please do not use additional titles in the names, and also be aware that The Glen or The URACESI forums are not locations. They are forums that could cover a vast range of landscapes. Please try to specify a geographical location, or the place where the baptism took place, with at least the name of the country!

The baptism register has been completed to date, although it still needs formatting - which I'll do when I have spare moments. It includes the records here, on the URACESI RK forum and I also went for a wander through the Church forums on RK Forum 2 to pick up a number of missing records.

But likely there will still be some missing. Of the very old records going back to 1454, sometimes it was just not possible to identify who officiated, or when it happened, or where.

If you see obvious omissions, please let me know here. A lot of the priests from the early days have no baptism record, but this is due to the baptism and ordination often happening at the same time. Also I believe a number of records were lost when another site that was being used to record baptisms failed.

Please still continue to use the register above to note down baptisms (along with the one in the URACESI RK forum) and I'll transfer records over when they appear.

If you are interested, check out the Registers ...

I found it interesting to see who had been baptised and it was a trip down memory lane to see all the names of those I once knew. As a historic record, it is really rather amazing to consider the number of deacons and priests who brought believers into the Friendship over the years.

I'm now in the process of gathering and collating the records from the Register of Marriage. Again I would encourage all to continue recording weddings in the register, using your own style, but also I'd like to request that at the end of your announcement, you also write the information in the following format, for future ease of record gathering.

[IG NAME of the groom] (eventual name RP) and [IG NAME of the bride] (eventual name RP) , by [IG NAME of the officiant], [DATE] in [LOCATION]

For example:

George Smith (George29) and Malia_Rose , by Geronimo, 23 June 1458 in Whithorn, Scotland.

Please do not use additional titles in the names, and also be aware that The Glen or The URACESI forums are not locations. They are forums that could cover a vast range of landscapes. Please try to specify a geographical location, or the place where the baptism took place, with at least the name of the country.

Thanks!

A quick question, hopefully that can be answered by a passing old timer of the Church in ESI Smile

I'm combing through the URACESI RK forum for marriage records. When doing the same for the baptism records, it turned out that about a third of baptism records hadn't made it here to Rome. So far I've found a number of marriage records for Scotland and Ireland, but there seems to be no marriage register for England in the URACESI RK forum. Is it really the case that there was never a register for marriages held in England on the URACESI RK forum ... or am I just going cross-eyed and missing it?

Smile

Hi all, I'd like to repeat the request that when noting down baptisms, that along with whatever method in which you make the announcement, you also add a simple version thus:

[IG NAME of the baptized] (eventual name RP), by [IG NAME of the officiant], [DATE] in [LOCATION]

For example:

Blue_moon21 (Blue Hendly) , by Sammy, 20 June 1460 in London, England.

This helps with putting the information into the registers and also notes where IG names are different to RP names.

Thanks!
