                      ~Orchards of Lamia~
where oranges, lemons and olives grow

The climate of Greece is primarily Mediterranean, featuring mild, wet winters and hot, dry summers.
Close to the coastside the wild countryside around the Cathedral of Lamia was offering the typical fruits of Greece. Juicy lemons and oranges grew along very old olive trees.
Each of the ancient olive trees was probably able to tell a story of plenty different times it has seen.
The flora around Lamia was offering plenty to the locals to have a good living. Many fruits that were not common back in Scotland were the bishop descent from.

The country side was telling a story of origin that was creating a very own atmosphere. Here in Greece so many things started and important foundations of the aristotelian belief had been created.

A wide and phantastic view presented towards anybody who started to have a walk through the wild uncultivated orchards of Lamia. Everything in here was ment to be typical and unchanged for centuries which was the reason one felt bound to the history in here.

Lamia was like a sanctury towards the young bishop. It was gronding her and making her feel calmer compared to Rome or Scotland. On the other hand Lamia was asking a lot from her, as it had been neglected for such a long time there was a need to rebuilt and create many structures.

Following the writings of the Prophets, the Saints and especially the Scholars which were the rolemodel for Caillen to create the structures within the diocese of Lamia.
Plenty decissions have been made in a short time, Evros was not leaving her side and managed to impress his teacher from time to time. Just like Lamias foundation needed to be built from scratch the relation between the blond bishop and her personal assistant turned into a relation with deep foundations.

She was sitting on the large terrace of her private palace here in Lamia, reading letters and plans. Signing and sealing decrees and contracts with the locals. Without turning towards Evros she started to dictate him a letter. "We Caillen etc, etc. invite you Angus etc. etc. to Lamia in order to discuss options and contracts to help us establishing a library and an abbey in Lamia. Maybe the warm sun of Lamia will also ease and inspire your soul just like it does with ours. - Make the letter sound a bit more nice and make sure that the recipant will be welcomed in Lamia as soon he arrives."

Evros did know his job well by now and was aware of the trust Caillen set into him. He created the letter in the very specific manner he was used from the bishop by now. In the end she was reading his doings and signed and sealed any paper leaving the diocesan palace.
Soon Lamia would welcome another guest and for Evros this was still something that excited him, especially after the last visitor.

Within Lamia nothing less but perfection was esteemed and Evros was happy that finally some structure and work was to be invested into the greece diocese he was living in.

An unexpected dispatch arrived via trusty messenger, being delivered personally to Angus in his residence in Rennes. After reading its contents, Angus was pleasantly surprised by the invitation to visit Greece. He smiled gently for two reasons, because on one hand the invitation came from a friend, while on the other he loved travelling and going to the sunbathed Greece seemed like a wonderful idea. After all, mixing pleasure and business has never been an issue for him. Thus, Angus asked the messenger to wait in the lobby while he writes a reply to Jolly. A letter written in a friendly tone and bearing an affirmative answer to his friend's invitation had been ready soon enough and the messenger set off to carry it back to Lamia.

Preparations for the voyage were hasty, but meticulous, and Angus' keen eye for details made sure that nothing was omitted in the process. When the moment arrived, a train of supply vehicles carrying baggage and other necessities was on its way towards the destination, accompanied by a select armed retinue on horseback. The voyage had been long, but eventful and enjoyable, and eventually this colourful caravan reached its destination in Lamia. Angus gently raised his hand and the whole caravan stopped. Atop his magnificent black stallion, Angus was elegantly dressed in green and gold brocade which perfectly matched his emerald green eyes, a pair of excellent leather boots and a beautiful sun hat with a large brim. He was wearing a breastplate and was armed with a dagger and a Damascus steel sword. The only detail which might even remotely point to his clerical status was a decorative pectoral cross suspended on a golden chain around his neck. Accompanied by two of his armed mounted bodyguards, while the rest of the retinue remained behind, Angus approached the palace gates.

~Setting things in Motion~

Preperations had been made just like the Bishop of Lamia ordered and wished.
The diocesan palace was decorated with the banners of Rome and the one of the Bishop to show that she was currently residing within the diocese.
The doorkeeper allowed the trail of the announced visitor in and the servants did take care about what ever was needed to make sure Angus would feel welcomed. The apartment that was previously occupied by noone else but Angus Father was prepared, The apartment was offering an amazing view over the Golf of Euboa in all rooms, light flooded rooms with marvel floorings. Aesthetically furniture did not disgrace this place, well choosen pieces that reflect the greek way of living. Frescos and mosaics showing pictures of the creation and the scholars completed the picture a large terracotta terrace on which one could already find chaiselongues, small tables and some sunshades in front of a natural water pool.

Of course Evros got notified about the arrival and just like anything else it was upon him to tell Caillen about the news. She was sitting within her private room, reading a book or kept starring at the beautiful seaside that was right in front of the window of her bedroom.
"His Excellency arrived .....Eminence" Evros addressed the young blond knowing that she was still not completely adjusted to this new circumstance. Her blue eyes wandered to her already prepared red clothes. New and richly decorated. Looking at them she shook her head. "Not today" instead a more private dress was picked and her hair got pinned up. In some ways her appearance was similar to an ancient greek goddess only her skin was way to pale for the white silky cloth that she was wearing.

Turning back to Evros "You may tell Angus that we will meet him within the Orchards, to take a walk and enjoy the flora without any narrowing walls around us." The young greek did not waste any time to deliever the message.

While Caillen entered the orchards and closed her eyes breathing in the warm fruity smelling air. Listening to the sounds of the birds trying to be way more in the here and now. Lamia was a sanctury to her, grounding her and reviving her energy. A way to make sure the thoughts that kept swirling within the young womans mind could get more focused and clearer.

The entire place was furnished with taste and it was something that appealed to Angus. He took some time to cool down in the apartment and enjoyed the wonderful view from its window, before heading towards the orchards where Jolly wished to meet him. It was a nice idea to have a private conversation in the serenity of the nature. He felt secure in the warm embrace of Jolly's hospitality, so he laid aside his armour, his sword and his dagger and locked them up in a trunk. Well, except a small discreet blade well concealed in his elegant boot, because a soldier's the old habits die hard. Thus he left his charming apartment and soon he was in the company of his gracious host. He looked at her with his piercing emerald green eyes and smiled gently.

Your Eminence, thank you for for your kind invitation and for your gracious hospitality. It seems you have a small piece of paradise, here in Lamia.

He was a bit formal in his address, but in a slightly teasing way, waiting to see her reaction.

The orchards had a calming effect on her she was listening to the birds and soaking in the smell of citrus and fresh air. Her hands slided over some branches as she was sensing the nature around her in all possible ways.

The wind was almost playfully caressing the skin of the redblond and set the white flowy dress a bit in motion. When the voice of Angus disturbed the silence she was enjoying.

His appearance did remind her of her mentor as he could not hide various similarities with his father. Her blue eyes welcomed him while she allowed herself to look at him from the top to the buttom.
Her voice was different compared to when she was executing her office. In here she was in free nature meeting up with the son of her mentor.
"Excellency" she returned with a wink in her eyes. "Lamia is indeed close to how I picture the solar paradise - yet there is still plenty of work to be done"

She stepped to the side of Angus making a gesture with her arms to point on the wide view. "Maybe we shall take the perfection of the Most High as an example don't you think?" she indicated very indirectly the reason why she invited him here, as she was still about to establish new structures within this diocese, trying to hide the fact that she was actually insecure as this meeting here in nature was way more private than anything else she had done for a very long while.

Evros had mentioned before that Angus was heavily armored when he arrived in Lamia, Caillen was thankful he was not right now as she disliked such a view a lot. It always reminded her about what happened in Iona.
"Tell me a bit about your sancturies in life"
