The time came when he would bless the queen consort. So he approached her, bowed down on a pillow, and placed both hands above her head, but without touching her.

Almighty and Eternal God, sanctify with Thy heavenly blessing this Thy servant Adelheid, whom we elect as Queen in the governance of the kingdom; wherever Thy wisdom instructs and comforts her and Thy Church acknowledges her as Thy servant for ever and ever. Thou who live and reign for ever and ever.

The Lancastre, kneeling on the velvet cushion, sees Cardinal della Scala approaching her. He then practices at Adelheid's blessing as Queen Consort of Ireland. She closes her eyes as the cardinal's hands are placed above her head and he utters the holy words. She responds piously, simply and with conviction.

    - Amen.

The grateful gaze rises to the cardinal, and then to her husband, majestic on his throne. The emotion is visible in the blue eyes of the Queen Consort.

It was an ancient tradition that rulers were enthroned by acclamation. In the choir of Saint-Titus, the voices were raised to exclaim loudly the cheers. The moment of the vivats was quite simply magic, an exceptional moment that one could only experience once in one's own life. There were no words to describe the satisfaction one felt on this very special and glorious occasion. The consecrated king now wore the crown on his head, but the ceremony was not yet over.

This important moment was further prolonged when the blessing was given to his queen, with Carl admiring her with a smile on his lips. The queen shone with grace, not least because she was beautifully dressed in her ceremonial attire.

Naturally, he was able to fathom the depths of his dear and tender wife's azure gaze, and of course the Irishman could feel how palpable her emotion was. The king looked at his queen proudly, this pride would reach again its climax when it was her turn to be crowned next month.

    - Long live the Queen !

At the end of the ceremony, the procession of the Princes of the Church left the sacred place.
