I have contacted Albrecht, because he wants to become priest of Cork.
Have you some information on him Caissa ? I ask this because perhaps he could be a bishop, of course if he's qualified/competent. _________________ Brother Invisible007 |

Did some research for Connaught;
Citation: | The Archdiocese of Tuam (Irish: Ard-Deoise an Tuaim) is a Roman Catholic archdiocese in west Ireland. Its suffragans are the diocese of Achonry, diocese of Clonfert, diocese of Elphin, diocese of Galway and Kilmacduagh, and diocese of Killala.
Tuam is the historic metropolitan see of Connacht, whose role as archbishopric was confirmed at various twelfth century synods, notably Kells 1152, is maintained in the Catholic Church, but was abandoned in the Church of Ireland following an Act of Parliament of 1833 which provided for the merger of the see with the diocese of Killala and Achonry. The traditional founder of Tuam was St. Jarlath and the pre-Reformation diocese at various moments absorbed other local episcopal sees deriving from Celtic monastic jurisdictions. The historic St Mary's Cathedral, Tuam, noted for a fine Romanesque arch, was substantially enlarged in the nineteenth century. |
So I'm guessing Archbishop of Tuam (the four Irish archdioceses are Tuam in the West, Armagh in the North, Dublin in the East and Cashel in the South). Loughrea is the seat of the current Diocese of Clonfert, and although it was traditionally at Clonfert it stilll suggests that Loughrea was in the Diocese. Half of Athlone (the connacht half) is in the diocese of Elphin, half is in Leinster (but not in RK).
That's probably useless, although the archbishopric bit may be relevant. _________________
