The bells of the Basilica of St. Titus began to play a festival for the appointment of a new cardinal.
In a few minutes will be held the enthronement of the new cardinal Monsterguid.

The doors of the church were opened to collect the faithful.

The Archbishop of Porto entered in the Basilica of St. Titus in Rome. He had lived more than a half-century, but never, in all his life, he saw a beautiful Church such as he was now.
From his youth as a deacon, to this day, he always walked the beautiful gardens surrounding the Portuguese area in Rome. Although his office stay away from St. Titus, the sound of heavy bells could be heard from afar.

Today begins a new call of the Church for the Archbishop de Albuquerque. He will be made Cardinal, higher position than craved when he was ordained. This new calling brought him a greater commitment to the faith, but at the same time gave him the strength to continue his mission.

The cleric wore their best ecclesiastical cassock. In his right hand he carried the Roman Ring and in neck he bore the golden fleece.

Again. Again a celebration. It was going fast with the Cardinals this time. It was the 8th ceremony in the year. So many dying...so fast a change. But she was happy for the ones, who where hounoured.
So she steopped into the Cathedral and sat on one of the benches.

Immediately after the Cardinal, the Archbishop Guido de Albuquerque recited the Creed:

Again a ceremony to attend. As soon as this ceremony was completed which was vested in the Bishop of Osma as Cardinal, he had to send those garments ready "gala" to attend the Basilica of St. Titus with much poise.
Youth preceded showing you a clean, fresh and serene face despite being a clergyman who was traveling, was a missionary and attended thousands of Requirement to see.
Following admission of the Cardinal Chamberlain was given the usual recitation of the Creed, which accompany the young vicar.

The chamberlain went to the altar and leafing through the canon law of the church, recalled the role that a cardinal had in the holy church.

Dear brother, I wanted to briefly remind you all, the role that after this day you will need to take:

The Cardinals act as college and must validate, even 'a posteriori', their decisions by the College of Cardinals.
The Cardinals can celebrate all the sacraments of the Aristotelian Church.
The Cardinals only, are entitled to pronounce an excommunication.
The Cardinals alone, are able to validate a separation or an annulment of marriage.
The Cardinals, alone are with being able to validate defrocking of a Priest or Monk, volunteer or not.
The Cardinals have the right of veto on any decision taken by a member of the Clergy, save the Pope.
The Cardinals have the keys, and right of viewing, for all the buildings of Rome.

The title of Cardinal does not prohibit any office plurality with another duty in the Secular or Regular Clergy"

He paused:

"Brothers, now I call for the delivery of the cap and the cardinal's ring"

Thus, 'the secretary of the Camerlengo called on his knees in front of Alexander, the cardinal:

"Come forward his eminence Monsterguid"

The Prelate walked a few steps. He removed the ring that he had in his right hand to receive the new cardinal's ring.
Monsignor Guido de Albuquerque knelt on the hassock that was in front of him, and waited for the Cardinal.

The Chamberlain laid his hands upon the head of the new cardinal, and said:

"We, Alexander III de 'Montemayor Borgia, Camerlengo of Holy Roman Church, on behalf of our Holy Father Pope Innocent VIII, at the behest of the eminent cardinals gathered in the sacred college,
We nominate for the office of Suffragant Cardinal for the Portoguese Church's"

He paused and pulled the chamberlain of the new cardinal from the ground and placed the cardinal's hat on his head and gave him the ring.



He smiled the chamberlain after delivery symbolically and patted the face of the cardinal sign of blessing.

His Eminence Edoardo attended the ceremony where a Brother was dressed as a new Cardinal, knowing he would have brought much more the presence of the Almighty among the Portoguese's faithful.
