    Baptism of Wedzimir

Today, the Cardinal listened, surrounded by rising clouds of precious incense, to the voices of a new ensemble of mystics who enriched this almighty house of God with art and talent for His pleasure, thus uplifting the presence of God.

Kalixtus sat in his liturgical vestments on the throne behind the altar. He listened to the music and awaited the arrival of Wedzimir, his godmother, and the guests he had with him.

He appeared truly impressive, with an aura of otherworldly power surrounding the Cardinal continually. Acolytes brought the water for the baptismal font, which was set up in front of the altar, a work of art made of marble and gold. Candles were lit. The scent of incense and flowers, mingled with candle wax, filled the Cardinal's grand church.

    Everything was ready.

Wedzimir walked into the basilica, his footsteps echoing softly against the ancient stone. The Cardinal, adorned in his liturgical vestments, sat regally behind the altar, a figure of solemn authority. The air was thick with the scent of incense, and the soft, ethereal voices of the choir filled the sacred space, lifting the spirits of all present.

His godmother, Lady Platyna, standing by his side, offered him a reassuring smile, her presence a comforting anchor in the solemnity of the moment. Together, they stood before the Cardinal, ready to partake in the ancient rite that would welcome Wedzimir into the fold of the faithful.

The baptismal font, a magnificent piece crafted from marble and gold, stood ready before the altar. Acolytes busied themselves with lighting candles, their flames casting a warm, inviting glow across the congregation. The music, the singing, and the ritual preparations blended seamlessly, creating an atmosphere of divine anticipation for the sacred ceremony that was about to unfold.

Everything was set for a moment of profound spiritual significance—the baptism of Wedzimir, a solemn commitment to his faith, witnessed by the Cardinal, his godmother, and the assembled guests.

Kalixtus looked up and smiled when he saw Wedzimir and Platyna. He stood up and spoke in an unctuous manner:

    Dear Wedzimir and Dear Platyna,

It is with great joy and gratitude that we gather here today to celebrate the baptism of Wedzimir. In this venerable place, which has been a symbol of faith and spiritual connection for centuries, we come together to honor a significant moment in the life of our dear Wedzimir.

Baptism marks a turning point in the life of a believer, a symbolic birth into the community of Aristotelians, and a promise of eternal life in God's grace. Today, we are here to accompany Wedzimir on this blessed journey and to welcome him into our Aristotelian community.

Let us raise our hearts and voices together to welcome Wedzimir into our midst, offering them our love, support, and blessings. May this baptism be a moment of joy, faith, and hope that will accompany Wedzimir on his life's journey.

May God's blessing rest upon Wedzimir, enveloping him in love and accompanying him at every step of his life. May he grow and flourish in God's grace, strengthened by the love of his family, godparent, and the entire community.

Let us pray together that Wedzimir may always remain steadfast in faith and be a living testimony to the love of Christos in this world.

Welcome, dear Wedzimir, to the family of God. May your baptism be an anchor of faith that carries you through all the storms of life.

    Let us pray:

      Dear God,

In this sacred moment, we come before you to lift Wedzimir as he embarks on his journey of faith through the waters of baptism. We thank you for the gift of this precious soul and for the opportunity to witness this sacred sacrament in the Basilica San Giovanni dei Martiri.

Bless Wedzimir, O Lord, with your abundant love and grace as he receives the waters of baptism. May this act of initiation into the Aristotelian faith be a source of strength and guidance for him throughout his life. Surround him with your divine protection and fill his heart with the light of your truth.

We pray for Wedzimir and Platyna who came here today. Grant them wisdom and patience as they nurture Wedzimir in his journey of faith. May they serve as shining examples of your love and mercy, guiding him with love and understanding.

Lord, bless this sacred space of Basilica San Giovanni dei Martiri, where generations have come to seek your presence and find solace in your grace. May it continue to be a beacon of hope and faith for all who enter its doors.

As Wedzimir takes this significant step in his spiritual journey, we ask for your continued guidance and blessings upon him. May he always walk in the light of your love, sharing your message of peace and compassion with all whom he encounters.

In your holy name, we pray.

      Amen.

Wedzimir stood modestly in front of the Cardinal and returned his smile. He listened to the prayer and quietly repeated it. Along with the Cardinal and his godmother, he loudly said "Amen". He listened to the Litaniae Sanctorum, drawing from it a deeper understanding of the communion of saints and the guidance they offer. The invocation of each saint's name during the litany reinforced his sense of connection to a faith that transcended time and place, anchoring him in a tradition that spanned centuries.

Kalixtus opens the chapter the "Mirror of Oane" for the today's reading:

Listen to me, I will read from "The Legacy Oane - The mirror of Oane"

    Citation:
    God is Mystery

It is frightening, that we will never be able to explain to ourselves what God is: He is beyond the capabilities of our intelligence. We can only know that God exists and that he is perfect. We cannot comprehend a being so absolute and ideal, because our intelligence is “finite” (i.e. limited), while God is “infinite”. His perfection is supremely above all and all we can say is just His name.
We can only prostrate ourselves before Him and present as mere mortals, who humbly seek Him. Mortals who are hoping, doubting, knowing that He will be with us, regardless of our mistakes, misunderstandings and inaccuracies. We are his children related to him by the bonds of fatherhood and love.

    Can Evil ever triumph?

I have never seen evil prevail over good.
God knows that there is an evil, dark side of Him. He knows everything, including himself. But he fights the darkness, for He seeks to do only good and thus he has created us. We are the guarantee that God will never allow evil to prevail in him, if we love him. So, Love itself is not only the reason for living, but also for existence of the good in God. If we abandon our love for God, then the good will disappear into darkness, which will engulf everything and will destroy the world.
When God created us, He also gave us he means to repel the evil by fighting its emanation on earth: the nameless creature. Just as our love helps God to fight the evil in heaven, our struggle against it on the ground is our assistance in the fight of God against the dark side of himself.

He closed the Book, made the sign of the cross and started with the sermon:

    Dear congregation,

Today, we have gathered here to celebrate the baptism of Wedzimir. It's a special moment that reminds us that God watches over us and showers us with His infinite love. In the reading we just heard, the mystery of God is brought to our attention. A mystery that surpasses our human understanding, for God is infinite and perfect, while we are limited and imperfect.

We can never fully explain or comprehend God, for His existence and perfection exceed our capabilities. Yet, despite our imperfections, we know that God is almighty and reigns over all. In our search for Him, we show humility and bow before His greatness and His love, which accompanies us despite our flaws and doubts.

The question of whether evil can prevail often troubles many of us. However, in the reading, we learn that evil never triumphs over good. God, who knows and fights evil, has created us as His children to assist Him in the battle against darkness. Love is our greatest tool in this endeavour, for it is not only the reason for our existence but also for God Himself.

Through baptism, Wedzimir is welcomed into the community of believers and connected with the bond of fatherhood and love. It's a sacred moment where we recognize that God needs us in His fight against evil and bestows His love upon us so that we may make this world a better place.

Let us, therefore, stand in the love of God and in our unity as a community, so that together we may combat evil and promote goodness in this world. May Wedzimir be guided by God's love on his journey of life, and may we all be reminded that as His children, we are called to shine His light into the world.

    Amen.

Let us confess our faith the way the Holy Mother Church taught us in her wisdom with the Credo:

I believe in God, the Most High Almighty,
Creator of the Sky and the Earth,
      Hell and Paradise,
Judge of our heart until the hour of death.

      And in Aristotle, the prophet,
The son of Nicomachus and Phaestis,
      Sent to teach wisdom
And the divine laws of the Universe to straying men.

      I also believe in Christos,
      Son of Maria and Joseph.
Who dedicated His life to show us the way to Paradise.
Thus after He suffered under Ponce the Procurator,
He died as a martyr to save us.
He joined the Sun where Aristotle waited on the right-hand side of the Father.

      I believe in Divine Action;
      In the Holy Roman Aristotelian Church;
      In the communion of Saints;
      In the remission of sins;
      In Eternal Life.

      AMEN

Wedzimir listened intently as Cardinal Kalixtus read from "The Legacy Oane - The Mirror of Oane," feeling a deep reverence for the mystery of God discussed. The Cardinal's words on the eternal struggle between good and evil, and the incomprehensibility of God's infinite nature, resonated deeply with him, emphasizing his humble place before the divine.

During the sermon, he understood his baptism as a call to join the battle of light against darkness, recognizing the importance of love as the force that sustains goodness. As the congregation recited the Credo, Wedzimir felt a renewed sense of commitment to his faith and a strong connection to the community of believers.

I believe in God, the Most High Almighty,
Creator of the Sky and the Earth,
Hell and Paradise,
Judge of our heart until the hour of death.

And in Aristotle, the prophet,

Reflecting on the ceremony, he was filled with gratitude for the grace that led him to this moment, ready to live a life guided by love and dedicated to spreading goodness in the world.

Now it was time, and the cardinal stepped up to the flower-adorned marble baptismal font. He beckoned Wedzimir and Platyna. The choir sang Respice, Domine as an acolyte with a golden jug, containing the consecrated water, came forward.

In a high arc, he poured this water from the jug, saying:

"Certainly, we are trapped in matter, subject to its rules, but our goal is the turning to YOU, ETERNAL PERFECT SPIRIT. As I perceive it, YOU have given life the meaning of love." To this, GOD said, "Human, because you are the only one who understands that it is about love, I make those like you MY children. And now you know that the talent of your kind is its ability to love ME and Mine. Other kinds can only love themselves."

Then he set the jug aside and took the hands of Wedzimir and Platyna. Together, they recited the prayer:

      Dear God, Father in Heaven!
      We thank you for Wedzimir.
Thank you for making him so wonderfully.
In Wedzimir, we see how wonderful all your works and deeds are.

Today, we place Wedzimir into your hands.
      Guide his life,
and let him be sheltered in you,
      envelop him with your love.

Protect Wedzimir from illness and all harm,
and grant him to recognize the purpose of his life with you.

Give us patience and ample forbearance,
so he may never have to doubt our love.

Continue to provide all the necessities of life,
so we can pass them on to our children.
Give Wedzimir people to accompany him.
Thus, your love will be passed on to the earth.
      Amen.

Then he let them go and smiled with delight. He asked Wedzimir to bow his head and, with the shell of a scallop, wet the young man's head. He spoke:

"I baptize you in the name of the Aristotelian Church and in the name of the Almighty, for friendship with all the Saints and for the love of the Father of humanity."

Next, he took one of the white cloths from an acolyte and dabbed off the excess water from Wedzimir's head. Then, he handed the cloth to Wedzimir and took one for himself to dry his hands. He winked at Wedzimir, and two more acolytes approached the cardinal. In the hands of one of them rested a golden chain with a medallion of Aristotle in cyan attached at the end. A gift from the cardinal. He took it from the pillow and placed it around the new member's neck, adjusting the medallion to face the right way and lightly tapping the young man's chest, all with a sense of happiness and joy.

This is the Medallion of Aristotle - it unites the teachings of the Prophets for unity and goes back to the Apostles. Since Apostle Titus, it has been the symbol of our Church, marking you as a member of the community of Aristotelians.

Then came the baptismal candle, indicating this new path because baptism is like a rebirth - cleansed from all sins, Wedzimir was now part of the Aristotelian community and an affirmative child of God on the golden path of virtue.

The choir sang the Asperge,me - a motet for the sprinkling of the spirit with God's presence. The cardinal lit the candle from the eternal and consecrated flame of the annual candle and handed it solemnly to Kobus.

This is the flame of faith. It is the living symbol of our faith. Carry this faith in your heart and beyond. Be an example - a flame that pierces the darkness and gives people a shining example of God's great grace. Be an example of virtue so that at the end of all days, the solemn entry into the Solar Paradise becomes an act of truth and glory, as He promised us.

You have chosen a special baptismal verse: "One must exist to think" These words from the hagiography of St. Nicholas are an indispensable testimony of faith and clarity, even for our times, due to their conciseness. Within process theology, there is an emphasis on the dynamic nature of reality and the interrelationship between God, the world, and human beings. In this context, the statement "One must exist to think" might be understood in terms of the ongoing process of becoming. According to process thought, existence is not static but continually evolving and emergent. Human thought then becomes a part of this ongoing process of existence, influenced by and influencing the dynamic interplay of events in the world. May those words guide you to a greater you with the help of Gods Grace.

Now, after the singing and while the baptizee and godmother were organizing themselves, the cardinal sang an old song in Occitan, the language of his childhood - a song that encourages the faithful and invites devotion - devotion to God Himself:

      Pax in nomine Domini.

Fetz Marcabrus los motz el so.
      Aujatz que di:
Com nos a fait, per so doussor,
      Lo Seingnorius celestiaus
      Probet de nos un lavador,
C'anc, fors outramar, no'n fon taus,
      En de lai deves Josaphas:
E d'aquest de sai vos conort.
      ...

When he reached the altar, he turned around and looked at the people. Though there were only two, it felt to him as if there were thousands because every soul is a gift of eternity - immeasurably precious, for it is God's presence within us. An acolyte brought the bread that Kalixtus blessed and broke:

May he who begins all his work and actions in your name sow good seeds. Bless our work now so that it may succeed, that we may teach and help what is useful and constructive.

      Amen

He then distributed the bread to the acolytes, servers, and, of course, to Wedzimir and Platyna.

With a smile on his lips, he raised his hands for the final blessing and spoke solemnly:

      The Lord bless you and keep you;
      The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis.
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis.
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, dona nobis pacem.

Let us say one final prayer together:

      Almighty God and Father,

It is love that leads us to you, and it is love that strengthens our will for introspection and repentance. Your love gives us hope for eternal peace in the Solar Paradise. May this love never end.

Through Christ, the Prophet, who reigns in unity with Aristotle for all eternity.

      Amen

Kalixtus raised his voice for the final hymn, the Te Deum, and then he would retreat to the sacristy. He beckoned Wedzimir and Platyna to come along, as both of them had to sign the baptismal certificate that he would prepare for the Roman registry.

Wedzimir stood quietly by the marble font as the cardinal poured the sacred water, feeling a deep sense of humility and connection to something greater than himself. The prayer they recited together was a moment of gratitude and commitment, asking for God's guidance and protection on his journey ahead.

Being baptized in the name of the Aristotelian Church, Wedzimir felt a new sense of purpose and belonging. The medallion of Aristotle placed around his neck was a symbol of his faith and a reminder of his connection to the teachings of the prophets.

Holding the baptismal candle, he felt the responsibility to live a life of virtue and to be a light for others. The cardinal's message, drawing on the wisdom of St. Nicholas, reinforced the importance of love and the dynamic nature of existence in shaping his path forward.

As the ceremony concluded with blessings and the sharing of the blessed bread, Wedzimir felt embraced by the community and the love of God. This moment marked a new beginning for him, filled with hope, faith, and a deep commitment to live according to the values of the Aristotelian Church.
