Hello!
As the new chaplain of the Order of Talon, I've been required to organise a ceremony of Knighthood through the Discipline of the Cross, for some of their recruits.
Citation: | The Roman Cross - the discipline of the cross is for those who seek Knighthood through the Roman Aristotelian Church England, Scotland, and Ireland.
I also have a Knight errant who is ready to be knighted into a lower discipline and believe both can be done in the same ceremony. |
This is my proposal for the ceremony and I'd like to know your thoughts about and also I'd like to invite the English Clergy to attend it.
Citation: |
Location: St. Paul Cathedral
[The night before]
(I) Vigilia: the night before the ceremony, the aspirants will be alone in a little cell inside the Cathedral, in front of their weapons, shields and the cloaks they'll receive during the ceremony, praying and meditating.
(II) Confessio: i'll be visiting them early in the morning, so they can receive the absolution of their sins.
(III)Preparatio: The aspirants will take a bath and dress themselves for the ceremony.
[Ceremony]
(I) Arrival:
- Priests and guesses arrive to the Cathedral. Weapons, shields, cloaks and other symbols are placed at the foot of the altar.
- Knights and members of the Order of Talon arrive to the Cathedral in procession, preceded by flags, banners and insignias of the Order. They take place in a semicircle in front of the main altar.
- Aspirants arrive and take place in front of the altar and the insignias, surrounded by the rest of the Knights.
(II) Rite of the Pilgrimage / Knighthood:
- Welcoming speech.
- Reading of the Book of Virtues and brief homily.
- Praying the Credus.
- Taking the Oath to the Church.
- Blessing symbols.
- Impossitio: for each one of the aspirants, i'll be giving him the symbols of their knighthood.
(III) Farewell:
- Benediction to all the attendants.

The rite itself is good, I commend you on that. An excellent choise and well built-up. For the sacramental side I would recommend a reading from the Hagiography of St Michel the Archangel, in particularly how he fights without blood and stands as a banner saint for all knights. _________________

The Knight commander walks into the halls takes a moment to look around.
"I can answer your question. We have at times had members of the French Domain Royal. We helped southern Italy with piracy concerns when my son William lead the order during my recovery. Under him we spent more than a year in the Mediterranean sea. As of now we are mostly English as those who were not recently moved though we are always open to having others join. We are willing to help anyone even escort clergy if asked too. We have ships and though we are knights we fight on both land and sea when needed."

Welcome to Rome, brother and Knight Commander Eridil. It is good to see that you have arrived here in good health. I have informed the Chancellor of the Congregations of the Holy Armies that you have arrived here and asked him if he can give you the keys to the rooms where you can have a private conversation with him. Do keep me informed on the progress of that matter, because Rome tends to be the place to practice the Virtue of Patience.
With these words I look at the Knight Commander and pour him a refreshing drink that I bring to him. The I turn to the other unformiliar face in the room and smile to the man.
Welcome brother, I am Father Statler of Kirkcudbright, Cardinal of the Anglophone zone. I welcome you too to our halls. _________________ [R.I.P.] The Scottish Cardinal Emeritus | Bishop In Partibus of Ptolemais |

Alexei listens to both man speaking to him. He nods when he hears the answer concerning the Order. Thank you for your answer, Knight Commander. The he listens to what the Cardinal says and replies. Eminence, I am Alexei Kosygin from Holland, I am now deacon in Leiden and in the middle of my ordination to become a priest. However, our bishop and archbishop have gone missing so I have no idea when I will be done with that. I have done the Seminary and completed it and I am wondering around Rome trying to meet people. I hope that I am welcome here? With these words Alexei waits for a reply. _________________

Hearing the soon to be priest speak I smile, I remember the time when I was young and impatient.
You are more than welcome to speak to us here in the Anglophone Zone, we do have something to say in Holland as well I belief. Keep us informed on your progress on becoming a priest. And do practice the Virtue of Patience when dealing with Roman things. Anyway, welcome here Alexei. _________________ [R.I.P.] The Scottish Cardinal Emeritus | Bishop In Partibus of Ptolemais |

Greetings Vanyar, Priest of Southampton. I trust my old town is doing well? I may live elsewhere because of my duty to serve, but Southampton will always be my home and the place that i raised my children, and said goodby to many old departed friends. _________________ Earl of Northampton
