Citation:
The Congregation of the Holy Office

The Holy Office is the custodian of the immeasurable wisdom contained in the scriptures, and the promoter of the Cause of Saints of the Universal Church. It is engaged in the study, comments and publication of the dogmatic text. It guarantees their integrity, and must ensure their eternal preservation.

The Holy Office is headed by the Chancellor of the Congregation, a cardinal chosen by his peers in the curia.

The Status of Theologian

There shall be a conclave of the Holy Office, consisting of the full assembly of the theologians of the Congregation of the Holy Office. The conclave meets in private.

Material Cause - The following can achieve the status of theologian of the Roman Holy Office: the faithful or members of the clergy who have followed a theological seminary specially organized by Rome and who are recognized for their intellectual excellence or for their knowledge regarding the Very Holy and Truthful dogma of the Universal and Roman Aristotelian Church.

Efficient Cause - The theologians are elected by the conclave of the Holy Office by nomination from the chancellor or a theologian from the congregation and through the majority of the votes cast.

Formal Cause - The theologians are formally received by the conclave of the Holy Office, who will publicize the nomination in the place of Aristotle.

Final Cause - The theologians renew their faithful vows, or the pronounce them if they are not members of the clergy, taking a vow to preserve the integrity of the texts under their protection at the price of their life, and take an oath to maintain the secrecy of debates in the coterie of the Holy Office which have note been made available to the public.

The Advisory Opinions

Any member of the faithful or the clergy may request from a theologian an opinion on all or part of the dogma. The opinion of the theologian, provided it is in writing, has official status and is deemed to be the Aristotelian position of the Church in the matter under consideration.

The advisory opinion given by a theologian can be appealed, at the request of the applicant, to the Chancellor of the Congregation of the Holy Office. If the Chancellor considers it appropriate to reconsider the decision, the inner circle of the Holy Office is required to meet to discuss the matter.

The Index

Any theologian can present to their peers and inner circle an application to blacklist a text considered heretical, or that constitutes a clear risk to the integrity of the Universal Church. A text is blacklisted by a majority of votes cast by the theologians of the Holy Office.

The blacklisted texts are not subject to appeal, and may not be identified by the circle itself, in accordance with the parallelism.

Validation of texts

We distinguish between minor texts and major texts.

The minor texts are dogmatic and liturgical comments that are not intended to be integrated as such in the Aristotelian Dogma.

The major texts are translations of ancient scrolls discovered since the Roman era of renewal of faith, including the hagiographies of the Ancient Saints.

Any of the faithful or clergy members may file a text for validation by the Congregation of the Holy Office. This is then given careful consideration, in both form and substance, by the group of theologians of the Holy Office, under the guidance of a theologian-rapporteur appointed for this purpose by his peers.

When the circle considers that the text submitted to it is ready for validation, the chancellor of the Holy Office shall:
- transmit it to the conclave for final validation if it is a major text;
- proclaim the validity if it is a minor text.

The Canonization Process

Any faithful or member of the clergy can propose the canonization of a person when at least three faithful Aristotelians can testify to he's death and when he isn't considered an Ancient-Saint by the congregation of the Holy Office.

Material Cause - The following can achieve the status of Saint of the Universal Church: doctors of the church, martyrs, preachers, and builders.

Formal cause - requests for sainthood are subject to a strict formality with which compliance is required, on pain of the case being dismissed. Applications are made to the Congregation of the Holy Office, and must necessarily be supported by a hagiography, a compilation of elements to justify the canonization of the individual.

A hagiography is composed of:
- the religious life of the candidate for sainthood (or vita), available on a narrative, and giving the evidence to support the status of a Universal Church Saint;
- a synopsis of the reason for the application for canonization, illustrated with direct quotes;
- a collection of comments made by the faithful or the clergy, highlighting the exceptional personality of the applicant;
- a collection of inspirational sayings uttered by the candidate in his lifetime;
- a catalogue of relics that are associated with the applicant (in particular the location of his remains);
- a gallery of banners, emblems, and avatars.

Efficient cause - the hagiography is subject to scrutiny of both form and substance by the Conclave of theologians of the Holy Office.

When the circle has considered the hagiography submitted for its consideration, it may be submitted for validation by the Chancellor of the Congregation, who shall transmit it to the curia. If the conclave is in favour, the Chancellor of the Congregation of the Holy Office is required to declare open the trial of the candidate for sainthood.

Final cause - The canonization trials are held in public in the place of Aristotle. The hagiography is presented to the whole of the faithful and Aristotelian clergy, who can freely comment. Seven days after the trial of canonization, the Chancellor of the Congregation of the Holy Office submits to the vote the hagiography of the whole of the faithful and Aristotelian clergy. If, after a further period of seven days, the hagiography gains a vote of 70% or more of the votes cast, the applicant is declared a Saint of the Universal Church.

Blessed

The material cause = a faithful has had a life and faith copies
The efficient cause = He is proposed by any true believer filing a hagiography
The formal cause = validation of hagiography by the conclave of the Holy Office
The final cause = Blessed becomes a model for all Aristotelians

Status is granted to the blessed people who led an exemplary life and having been out of faith.

This status is granted by the theologians of the Holy Office. They check that hagiography is consistent with the proposed dogma and canon law and that the candidate has indeed led an exemplary life as an Aristotelian.

This status is obtained via a process of beatification, according to the statutes and the organization of the Holy Office.

The hagiography of the blessed is published in the Dogma. It could possibly be the basis for a canonization. Blessed may be regarded locally as a saint and be subject to a cult.

Saint

The material cause = one blessed who had a major impact on the influence of the Church and Faith
The efficient cause = one is proposed, based on a hagiography already validated by any member of the Roman clergy
The formal cause = validation of hagiography by Curia (after a possible popular debate)
The final cause = the saint is a guide on the path of virtue

The saint is a blessed who had a major impact on the overall development of the Faith, either in his lifetime or after his death.

This status is granted by the cardinals who verify that its impact on the Church was very important and positive. If this is a modern saint, we take notice of the faithful in the Place of Aristotle.

This status is obtained via a process of canonization, which differs depending on whether the saint is an ancient or modern.

If he is a modern saint, the faithfuls opinion is consulted in the Aristotle Place. Following the canonization trial that takes place according to the statutes and the organization of the Curia.
if he is an Ancient Saint, the canonization takes place directly under the statutes and the organization of the Curia.

The saint is an example to the faithful around the world and for all clerics. His thought and action are references recognized by all. Churches and chapels as well as pilgrimages may be dedicated to them, and a rite may be held for him.

PS:
Circle is the same as Coterie also known as Cénacle*
Holy Office is the same as Saints Office*
Ancient-Saint is a saint what was canonized before the age of renewing the faith*
