---------------------------⊰Coronation Ceremony of Carloman I, King of Ireland - 13.09.1468⊱

---------------------------------------

Two coronations in two days! The people of Rome were accustomed to seeing the crowned heads of Europe cross the streets of their city, but were nevertheless impressed by such an event.

On that day they would receive the crown and the blessing of the Most High King of Ireland, Carloman I, and the colours of the Emerald Isle embellished the street leading to the Basilica of St Titus.

The Franciscan bishop arrived at the basilica. Though he was Primate of Ireland, he arrived as usual without any pomp. He was dressed in his usual Franciscan grey habit for him a testimony of the poverty the Church was to embrace. He had made the journey by foot accompanied by a few beggars who he had made friends with here in Rome.

As he entered the holy place, he took a seat at the back and took the time to pray for the King and for Ireland.

The Grand Master and Knight of Insilduil, received the great news of the coronation of his good friend Carloman, had the honor of meeting him during his trip to Flanders and the British Islands and could not miss his Coronation, an excellent person who will lead the kingdom with peace and prosperity without a doubt.

Apparently he was not the first to arrive, he was able to see religious Will, a great religious who gave him refuge and friendship on his arrival in England and came over to greet him without a doubt.

Monsignor William sees a familiar face approached him. He ended his prayer, stood and greeted the man. Greetings my Child. Are you well?

He could see that Monsignor William finished his prayers and came over to greet him

"Nice to see you brother will, a great honor to see you here", he says as he leans to kiss the ring of the religios

I am happy to hear that you are doing well. Monsignor William was not used to having his ring kissed. He tried to pull his hands away without shocking the devoted man. Now, now, not to much of reverence. Let us continue our prayers.

Bran wandered through the streets of rome, witnessing the festivities therein while seeking information about his own pursuits and desires. As his interests lay within Ireland anyways, he saw it as opportune to be present for a coronation, even if the rumors he had heard about the king and his house were conflicting and diverse.

His mind drifted back to some documents he found of his fathers from before he vanished, fragmented notes and records from the early days of Ireland noting shadow play and bloodshed in petty politics and unknown games in search of who knows what. Although he knew little of current Irish politics, he knew the succession of monarchs was much more formalized, and hopefully much less messy than the records indicated. Hopefully this king and his house would see much good done for Ireland as well.

Bran went and grabbed some street food from a vendor enjoying the second day of festival pricing on his goods, and went to see where he could visit the festivities as a relative unknown.

Dimmae had left the Count's Castle and Captain stood vigil, after a few months he sailed to Europe.

The Basilica of St Titus stands tall, certainly looked empowering in all it's splender.
He decided to walk in, sit on one of the church pews.

He hoped Carlo's big day he would long remember, as dignitaries were starting to arrive. Gently Dim took a sip of his Irish whiskey feeling relaxed waiting for royal entourage to arrive.

Cesare arrived to the ceremony of coronation of the king of Irland. It was a nice day and the sun wasn't that burning the face of our hero. When he enterred in the basilica, he saw two faces he didn't see for a very long time. He came to the franciscan brother which he knew thanks to diplomacy and the knight he knew thanks to jousting, with the hope they could remind him a bit. He approached gently, in order to disturb them the less possible in their prayers.

Brother, dear knight. It's been along time since our last meeting. I hope you both are doing well.

To his surprise, an old acquaintance of the Holy Empire was present at the Cathedral and could not hide his joy at greeting a good jousting competitor.
"May the Most High bless you Brother, a great honor to see you after such a long time"

The King of Ireland is crowned. Since they knew each other very briefly, he felt the need to be present at this ceremony. Even if only an onlooker.

He entered the imposing basilica, crossed himself and took his usual place in the apse among his colleagues. He greeted the few he knew honestly and with dignity.

He had arrived at the different embassies of the Hispanic kingdoms to the surprise of many, invitations for the coronation of the King of Ireland and on behalf of the kingdom of Aragon, he accompanied the different ambassadors who gladly accepted the invitation, thus giving respect and friendship to His Majesty Carloman I, of Ireland.

Their journey had been arduous, but still the English Royal Chancellor and her husband arrived in Rome in high spirits. Long had it been since the last time she’d given her homeland any consideration as those memories were painful, yet there was a spark of hope that perhaps the land was healing and would some day forget the scars of the Celtic Alliance. After a few restless days exploring the Holy City, they arrived at the Basilica and promptly lost themselves, emerging just prior to the ceremony’s commencement. Her gown arranged to perfection, they mingled for a time before taking their seats.

Lance modded with permission.
