A letter addressed to the Roman Curia was sent over from the Low Countries in the Holy Roman Empire to Rome.



Citation:

We, Finn de Brancion, by the grace of God, Duke of Jülich, Margrave of Frisia, Count of Zutphen, Salland and Arkel, Lord of Buren, Anholt, Radolfzell and Haar, Knight of the Holy Roman Empire, Knight in the Order of the Golden Lion, Steward of Drenthe, Vollenhove and Twente, to all who read or hear it, hereby denounce the Roman Curia for their hypocrisy and abuse of power against the Holy Roman Empress and the entirety of the Holy Roman Empire. We stand with our Liege against the criminals of the Roman Curia. Let it be known. Done and sealed in Heusden on the 29th day of April in the year of the Lord 1471,
