Rome, Anno Domini 1473
The streets of the Eternal City teemed with pilgrims and merchants, while the autumn sun cast a golden glow upon the austere walls of the cardinal palaces. Father Borbone, wrapped in his dark cloak, crossed the threshold of the Prefecture for Aristotelian Teaching. Behind him, a young cleric carried a bundle of parchments and sealed letters.
He halted in the atrium, where an usher greeted him with the due respect.
— Pax vobiscum, reverend father. What is the purpose of your visit to this holy place?
Father Borbone, inclining his head slightly, replied:
— I have come to Rome to confer with His Excellency the Prefect, or, should he be unavailable, with Chancellor Kalixtus. The aim of my request is plain: I wish to discuss the possible foundation of a place of learning upon the lands of the Gregorian order, that the Aristotelian doctrine might be taught with rigour and spread with zeal among the faithful, thus granting us, brothers in the faith, a common purpose.
The usher, somewhat overawed by the gravity of his tone, bowed his head and answered:
— Please wait a moment, Father, for I shall announce your presence.
Thus it was that Father Borbone found himself in the waiting hall, his gaze resting upon a fresco depicting Aristotle and Plato in dispute, whilst in his mind he prepared the words he would soon address to the Prefect or to the Chancellor. _________________

The prefect had been informed by a page of the arrival of the rector of the Gregorian Order. So he went to meet him in order to talk with him.
Good morning, Your Excellency. _________________ "L'important n'est pas d'être meilleur que les autres mais bien d'être meilleur que l'on pouvait l'être hier"

Father Borbone, upon seeing him, rose promptly from his seat. With grave composure, he inclined his head and folded his hands upon his chest, in a gesture of both reverence and resolve.
— Your Excellency, I am grateful for your reception.
His voice, though low, carried the solemn weight of his determination. He paused, allowing the silence of the hall to lend gravity to his words, before continuing with calm and measured seriousness:
— My name is Marco Ibleto Polo d’Oria Borbone, Grand Prior of the Gregorian Order.
Father Borbone remained standing, his gaze steady yet respectful. After another brief moment of silence, he spoke again, his tone firm:
— I have come to Rome to request an audience and seek guidance from Your Excellency. The Gregorian Order, entrusted to me during the absences of Father Adelene, is in need of a purpose that may renew and strengthen it.
His hands still folded upon his chest, the priest spoke deliberately, enunciating each word with care:
— For this reason, following a long-held desire of Father Adelene, I wish to submit for your consideration the proposal to establish a place of study within our lands: a seminary that may one day become a university. I also seek to be informed of the procedures and requirements necessary for the recognition of a seminary. Therein, Aristotelian doctrine would be taught with rigour and disseminated with zeal, so that the brothers and the faithful may find not only instruction, but a shared mission.
He paused, lowering his gaze slightly in a sign of deference, awaiting the Prefect’s reply. _________________
