I was just informed by a parishoner returning from travels that he passed a rune stone on the road in Ireland. Is this something new? A possible relic? |

Sounds pretty pagan to me. Can this traveller supply us with pictures, a drawing, perhaps? Where it is exactly located? _________________

I agree with SE Leopold. However, if the inscriptions are of Aristotelian in origin then perhaps it might be. _________________

It can also not be relic untill confirmed as such by the Saint-Office. But I am curious what it could be. (It is visible IG?) _________________

I know not of any inscriptions. The traveler likened it to something from stone henge, but the drawings make it appear more of a cross.
I am hoping to be able to visit soon, I'm only a couple day's travel by ship. |

There are a few of these scattered around Ireland. They're called standing stones, also known as galláin in Gaeilge. Some standing stones are etched with Ogham, which is the early form of writing here in Ireland. |
