Clad in a simple white garment, free of any insignia or ornament, Půta entered the basilica quietly.

The vast space opened before him, filled with the scent of incense and the muted glow of candlelight. He slowed his steps instinctively, aware that this was not a moment to hurry. Approaching the nave, he bowed his head briefly toward the altar, then moved to a nearby pew.

There, he sat down in silence.

His hands rested loosely in his lap as he closed his eyes. He did not seek words, only stillness, letting the weight of the moment settle while his thoughts turned inward in quiet prayer.

Chireadan entered the temple dressed as always – in a simple monk's habit tied with a cord at the waist. Right from the moment he entered, his humility and spiritual peace were clear to see.

He did not look around, but sat down in a bench at the back, focused on his prayers, so as not to attract too much attention.

Sarunia entered the basilica with a bright, confident smile, stepping inside without hesitation. She nodded toward the altar and took a few steps forward, her excitement visible despite her composed posture. She made her way toward the benches, straight-backed and calm, yet visibly joyful. After a short nod toward the altar, she sat down, hands resting easily on her knees, ready for the ceremony to begin. Her eyes briefly searched the benches for familiar faces, though she quickly reminded herself to stay focused on the ceremony.

She sat in one of the back pews, where she could see everything without being noticed herself. When she spotted Sarunia, she waved at her with a smile, but of course she couldn't see her. So she folded her hands in her lap.

Val sat down on the pew next to Oliviia. She was proud to be able to participate in this important day for Sarunia. She thought sadly of Sarunia's father, who had not lived to see this day.

Wedzimir arrived at the basilica where the ordinations were to take place. He still remembered his own vows with clarity, recent enough to feel close, yet distant through the many events that had filled the time since then. Dressed in a rich ceremonial clerical robe, he looked every bit the dignified witness he intended to be. Beside him walked Rozali, whom he had brought to show her the solemn beauty of priestly ordination, a sacrament reserved only for those called to serve.

Wedzimir leaned toward her, speaking quietly:

"Find us a place to sit, maybe near someone familiar. I want Sarunia to feel supported today. I’ll be right back, just need to check if Cardinal Sforza requires anything."

He offered her an encouraging nod before turning toward the front of the basilica.

Easy to say "find us a place", she thought, when the sheer vastness of the temple felt overwhelming and there were still so few guests inside. She looked around carefully once more, then moved forward slowly and with dignity.

She decided to sit in the benches opposite where Sarunia was seated, and since she knew no one here, she chose the second row - so it wouldn’t look as if she were putting herself forward. She understood perfectly well that the first row should be left for more distinguished guests, but the second seemed entirely appropriate. And so, as she had planned, she took her place in the second bench and discreetly looked around the basilica while waiting for Wedzimir to return.

Fenomena sat down near Olivia and Valdrea.

Oh, how nice it was to sit in a quiet church, surrounded only by adults! Her little daughter was left with her nanny; the thought that for the next hour no one would cry, demand milk, or make a mess of Fenomena's dress was deeply relaxing.

The doors of the basilica opened wider than would be required for the mere arrival of another guest.
First came the soft rustle of heavy fabrics and the muted echo of heels against the stone floor. Then—her.
Queen Teodora.
She did not raise her voice, nor did she make any overt gesture, and yet the silence that had already reigned within the sanctuary deepened, becoming almost tangible. It was as though the very air paused in reverence along with the faithful. A few heads lifted instinctively—not out of curiosity, but recognition.
She walked slowly, with measured dignity that required no emphasis from regalia. Her step was steady, her gaze calm, almost cool in its composed awareness of place and moment. Her retinue followed in silence, maintaining a respectful distance.
Candlelight shimmered against the gilded ornamentation of the interior as she passed the rows of pews. The scent of incense seemed heavier, more solemn. Even the choir, which had been quietly rehearsing in the distance, fell still.
At the first row she paused for the briefest moment. She inclined her head toward the altar—a gesture restrained yet reverent—before taking the seat accorded to her by right of her station.
She sat upright, unshaken, her hands resting composedly in her lap.
Her retinue arranged themselves behind her—some taking their places in the following rows, others remaining standing, attentive yet unobtrusive. Their presence was visible, yet wholly subordinate to her figure.

Platyna

The stone walls of the basilica rose high above the gathered faithful, and the chill of the interior mingled with the scent of wax and incense. As Platyna entered at her husband’s side, the echo of their footsteps was almost immediately absorbed by the murmur of whispers and prayers. Light filtered through narrow, stained-glass windows, spilling onto the floor in patches of gold and purple.

The basilica was nearly full. In the foremost pews sat the dignitaries of the Aristotelian Church, clad in robes heavy with embroidery, their faces solemn and composed. Farther back were representatives of noble houses - ladies in subdued gowns, knights with hands resting upon the pommels of their swords - as well as townsfolk who clasped prayer beads in their fingers with visible devotion.

A sense of anticipation hung in the air - for it was not every day that a young lady offered her life to reason and faith by receiving priestly ordination. Whispers faded as more guests took their seats, and eyes repeatedly turned toward the presbytery, where the altar and sacred books had already been prepared.

Platyna and her husband found their designated place among the invited guests. As they sat down, the basilica seemed to hold its breath for a moment - as though stone, light, and human thought had merged into one, awaiting the beginning of a ceremony that was to alter the fate of Sarunia.

Kalixtus found time to attend this event; besides, he had received an invitation, and it was polite to accept invitations.

As usual, he was dressed in particularly fine clothing, today wearing various shades of red. His white hair and golden pectoral stood out clearly but tastefully.

Naturally, after making a detailed sign of the cross in front of the altar, he sat down in the clergy section. He would follow the ceremony through the eyes of a catechist and liturgist.

Hádramašmátrá entered the basilica quietly. Her gaze, accustomed to the vast vaults of cathedrals, lingered with appreciation on the beauty of the Roman architecture before sweeping over the gathered faithful. When she caught sight of Půta in one of the front pews, where he sat clad in a simple white robe and lost in contemplation, unconcealed satisfaction appeared in her features. The gentle, almost maternal smile that flickered across her lips was a silent affirmation of the path this man had chosen. Without disturbing anyone, she walked down the aisle to her designated place and seated herself with her characteristic dignity. With a deep exhale, as if shedding the weariness of a long journey, she bowed her head and folded her hands in prayer, surrendering the moments to come to the Almighty.
